Original Music Values & Characteristics

VALUES AND CHARACTERISTICS

 

- Original music that is used during our Sunday worship will need to help us, as a church, to accomplish our mission of bringing people into a personal faith in Jesus so that they can experience the fullness of life that only He can offer. 

 

- Lyrics

  • make a personal connection with Jesus
  • easily accesible to congregational singing
  • express a powerful emotion (joy, hope, love, praise and worship, forgiveness, peace, mercy, etc.)
  • scripturally/ biblically grounded

- Music

  • plays upon current musical strengths (pop, gospel, blues, funk, rock, etc)
  • engages the congregation into a deeper connection with Jesus either physically (dancing, clapping, yelling, raising hands) or introspectively.
  • must practice current and innovative styles of composition. 

 

- All music must be written out for it to be used in the service and all songs are subject to the final approval of the Music Steering Team.  Help is available for all of these requirements.
