Now disbanded, the DOC Band was a dynamic group of professional Chicago musicians that was formed by Catching Life Christian Church in 2002, and who seamlessly mixed gospel, rock, and jazz to create a high energy performance. While carrying out their careers in Music, these musicians performed at the weekly worship services of Catching Life, using Gospel, contemporary Rock, and Jazz Fusion sounds to form a spirited atmosphere. The DOC Band was committed to living lives of extravagant worship while they brought others into the presence of God.
Drawing on Chicago's best, this music was made to worship God and to support the work that He is doing here on earth. Who Am I? (track #5) received an honorable mention in the 2004 International Christian Songwriting Contest! Lead by Matt Ross, all of the songs are original and communicate an honest approach to worshiping God. Matt, a professional guitarist and singer/songwriter in California, spent many years developing his craft. A jazz studies major from DePaul University, Matt recorded for and played in all kinds of different bands that have influenced a unique musical approach to his worship.
Bassist Chris Clemente humbly took the time to produce, record, mix, sing, and play on the new cd. Chirs is an accomplished musician who has established himself as a dominant figure in the music scene for decades. Many others have contributed to the creation of this album, and it is nothing short of a miracle. Maturing in Christ and following where He leads has proven to be an incredible ride.
